Ancom Malaysia Rally
In August this year, Ancom Crop Care sponsored the Malaysian Rally 2006 which is also the Fifth Round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC). A record of over 30 entrants battled it out (mr6) at Bandar Tenggara in Kota Tinggi, Johor. It was a world class sporting event that mets the high expectations and requirements of competitors. Organised by the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) the prestige event helps cultivate the spirit of sports and competition in the hearts and minds of young potentials. Although a relatively young sport, rally has become a major spectator-sport event coming second to the Formula 1 race in Malaysia. Household names like Karamjit Singh, Kan Chee Hong, Saladin Mazlan and also others have inspired many young and new talents to take up rallying.

Companies from the ANCOM group including Ancom Crop Care sponsored the historic Penang ferry operations. Many of us would remember when there was no Penang Bridge, a trip to the “Pearl of the Orient” would mean an exciting ride on a ferry that would also transport cars onto the island. Ancom’s sponsorship keeps alive one of the most spectacular and colourful aspects of Malaysian life. It also serves as a reminder of how responsible and caring corporations can play a part in preserving identity and a still useful means of transportation for the benefit of the community. |
